Uncoated bond paper is typically used for everyday drawing, printing, and copying. Because the matte surface of this paper is naturally more porous, it is better suited for use with monochromatic plotters, engineering copiers, and inkjet printers. It is also suitable for pen-and-ink, graphite drawings, and handwritten notes. As the paper absorbs some of the inks, uncoated bond papers typically dry faster than coated papers. 20lbs. Bigger may not be better!

While some inkjet printers like the Ricoh MP CW2201 are designed to easily accept larger media rolls, inkjet printers typically do not have the capacity to take the larger diameter (6”) of xerographic copier rolls. Another consideration is the weight of the roll being lifted over the top of the inkjet printer. A 36” x 500ft roll of 20lb bond weighs 26lb plus the roll holder. You can easily damage the machine and your back loading such a heavy roll. A 36” roll of the same material for inkjet printers weighs 8lb, still surprisingly heavy when you’re leaning over the printer to load it. If your printer is designed to take the larger diameter rolls, we have them available.
